Matewan Depot
Replica Museum

The Matewan Depot Replica is a 24x135 ft. Smithsonian quality reconstruction of the steam era station that stood across the railroad tracks from downtown Matewan until the late 60's. The Depot houses artifacts and information about the Hatfield & McCoys, the Matewan Massacre, coal mining, and the railroad. Local arts and crafts, books, t-shirts, and more are available in the gift shop.

WV Mine Wars Museum

Proudly offering the largest exhibition of Mine Wars history anywhere in the United States. We walk visitors through this legacy with compelling exhibits of archival photos and videos, first-person accounts, rare artifacts and replicas, and detailed timelines placing the events of the Mine Wars era in a global context.

The Matewan Lockup and City Hall - Constructed in 1908. It served as headquarters for Sheriff Sid Hatfield.

United Methodist Church - Founded in 1892 and completed in 1933 by Italian Immigrant stone cutters. The Church has strong ties to the Battle of Matewan.
